ज्ञानविज्ञानयोग

श्री भगवान बोले - मैं तुझे इस ज्ञान को विज्ञान सहित सम्पूर्ण रूप से कहूंगा, जिसे जानकर इस संसार में और कुछ भी जानने योग्य शेष नहीं रह जाता।

The Supreme Lord said: I shall explain to you in full this knowledge along with realization, knowing which nothing further remains to be known in this world.

हजारों मनुष्यों में कोई एक सिद्धि के लिए यत्न करता है, और यत्न करने वाले सिद्धों में भी कोई एक मुझे तत्त्व से जानता है।

Among thousands of people, hardly one strives for perfection, and among those who strive and achieve perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth.

भूमि, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, मन, बुद्धि और अहंकार - यह आठ प्रकार से विभक्त मेरी प्रकृति है।

Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego - all together these eight constitute My separated material energy.

श्री भगवान बोले - हे महाबाहो! यह तो मेरी अपरा (निम्न) प्रकृति है, इससे भिन्न मेरी दूसरी परा (उच्च) प्रकृति को जानो, जो जीवरूप है और जिससे यह संसार धारण किया जाता है।

The Blessed Lord said: This is My lower nature, O mighty-armed one. Know My other, higher nature which is the life element by which this universe is sustained.

हे महाबाहो! यह जानो कि सम्पूर्ण भूत-प्राणी इन दोनों (अपरा और परा) प्रकृतियों के ही योनि (कारण) हैं। मैं सम्पूर्ण जगत का कारण हूँ और उसी में लीन हो जाता हूँ।

Know that all beings are born from these two natures, O mighty-armed one. I am the origin and dissolution of the entire universe.

श्री भगवान बोले - हे धनंजय! मुझसे परे और कुछ भी नहीं है। यह सम्पूर्ण जगत मुझमें इस प्रकार गुंथा हुआ है जैसे सूत्र में मणियों के समूह गुंथे रहते हैं।

The Supreme Lord said: O Arjuna, there is nothing whatsoever higher than Me. All this universe is strung on Me like clusters of gems on a thread.

हे कुन्तीपुत्र! मैं जल में रस हूँ, चन्द्रमा और सूर्य में प्रकाश हूँ, सभी वेदों में ॐकार हूँ तथा आकाश में शब्द और मनुष्यों में पुरुषत्व हूँ।

O son of Kunti, I am the taste in water, the light in the moon and sun, the sacred syllable Om in all the Vedas, the sound in ether, and the ability in humans.

मैं पृथ्वी में पवित्र गन्ध हूँ और अग्नि में तेज हूँ। सभी प्राणियों में जीवन हूँ और तपस्वियों में तप हूँ।

I am the pure fragrance in earth and the brightness in fire. I am the life in all beings and the austerity in ascetics.

हे पार्थ! तू मुझे सब भूतों का सनातन बीज जान। मैं बुद्धिमानों की बुद्धि हूँ और तेजस्वियों का तेज हूँ।

Know Me, O Partha, as the eternal seed of all beings. I am the intelligence of the intelligent and the radiance of the radiant.

मैं बलवानों में कामना और राग से रहित बल हूँ, और हे भरतश्रेष्ठ! प्राणियों में धर्म के विरुद्ध न होने वाली काम-वासना हूँ।

I am strength in the strong, devoid of passion and attachment. In beings, I am desire that is not contrary to dharma, O best of the Bharatas.

जो सात्त्विक, राजसिक और तामसिक भाव हैं, वे सब मुझसे ही उत्पन्न होते हैं - ऐसा जान। परन्तु मैं उनमें नहीं हूँ, वे मुझमें हैं।

Know that all states of being - whether they be of sattva (goodness), rajas (passion), or tamas (ignorance) - come from Me alone. But I am not in them; they are in Me.

इन तीनों गुणों से युक्त भावों के द्वारा यह सम्पूर्ण जगत् मोहित हो रहा है, इसलिए मुझ इन गुणों से अतीत अविनाशी परमात्मा को नहीं जानता।

Deluded by these three modes of material nature (sattva, rajas, and tamas), the whole world does not recognize Me, who am beyond these modes and imperishable.

यह मेरी दैवी माया गुणमयी है और अत्यन्त दुस्तर है। परन्तु जो मेरे शरण में आते हैं, वे इस माया को पार कर जाते हैं।

This divine Maya of Mine, consisting of the three modes of nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who surrender unto Me can easily cross beyond it.

दुष्कर्म करने वाले मूढ़ नराधम लोग मेरी शरण नहीं आते, जिनका ज्ञान माया से हर लिया गया है और जिन्होंने आसुरी भाव को अपनाया है।

The foolish wrongdoers, the lowest of mankind, deluded by Maya and of demoniacal nature, do not surrender unto Me.

श्री भगवान ने कहा - हे अर्जुन! चार प्रकार के सुकृती मनुष्य मेरी भक्ति करते हैं - आर्त, जिज्ञासु, अर्थार्थी और ज्ञानी, हे भरतवंशियों में श्रेष्ठ!

The Blessed Lord said: Four kinds of virtuous people worship Me, O Arjuna - the distressed, the seeker of knowledge, the seeker of wealth, and the wise, O best of the Bharatas.

उनमें भी जो नित्ययुक्त और एकनिष्ठ भक्ति वाला ज्ञानी है, वह श्रेष्ठ है, क्योंकि वह मुझे अत्यंत प्रिय है और मैं भी उस ज्ञानी को प्रिय हूँ।

Among them, the wise one who is ever-united with Me and devoted solely to Me is the best, for he is exceedingly dear to Me, and I am dear to him.

ये सभी उदार हैं, परन्तु ज्ञानी तो मेरा ही स्वरूप है, ऐसा मेरा मत है। क्योंकि वह योगयुक्त आत्मा मुझ परमेश्वर को ही परम गति मानकर आश्रित रहता है।

All these are indeed noble, but the wise one is verily My very Self - this is My view. For such a person, with mind united in yoga, takes refuge in Me alone as the supreme goal.

अनेकों जन्मों के अंत में ज्ञानी पुरुष मुझे प्राप्त होता है। वासुदेव ही सब कुछ है - ऐसा जानने वाला वह महात्मा अत्यंत दुर्लभ है।

After many births, the wise person surrenders unto Me, knowing Vasudeva to be all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.

जिनका ज्ञान नाना कामनाओं से हरा गया है, वे अन्य देवताओं की शरण लेते हैं और अपनी प्रकृति से प्रेरित होकर इस या उस नियम का आश्रय लेते हैं।

Those whose wisdom has been carried away by various desires surrender to other gods, following this or that ritual, being constrained by their own nature.

जो-जो भक्त जिस-जिस देवता के रूप की श्रद्धा से पूजा करना चाहता है, उस-उस भक्त की श्रद्धा को मैं दृढ़ कर देता हूँ।

Whatever form a devotee seeks to worship with faith, I make that very faith of his steady and unflinching.

भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने कहा: वह मनुष्य उस श्रद्धा से युक्त होकर उस देवता की आराधना करता है और उससे अपनी कामनाओं को प्राप्त करता है, जो वास्तव में मेरे द्वारा ही प्रदान की गई होती हैं।

Endowed with that faith, he seeks to worship that particular deity and obtains his desires from that deity - but it is I alone who bestow those boons.

श्री भगवान ने कहा - परन्तु उन अल्प बुद्धि वाले मनुष्यों के यज्ञों का फल नाशवान होता है। देवताओं की पूजा करने वाले देवताओं को प्राप्त होते हैं और मेरे भक्त मुझे ही प्राप्त होते हैं।

But temporary and limited is the fruit gained by those of small understanding. Those who worship the gods go to the gods, but My devotees come to Me.

अज्ञानी लोग मेरे अविनाशी और उत्कृष्ट परम भाव को न जानते हुए, मुझ अव्यक्त को व्यक्त हुआ मानते हैं।

The unintelligent think of Me, the unmanifest, as having manifestation, not knowing My supreme nature, which is imperishable and most excellent.

श्री भगवान् बोले - मैं योगमाया से आवृत होकर सबके सामने प्रकट नहीं होता। यह मूढ़ संसार मुझ अजन्मा और अविनाशी को नहीं जानता।

The Supreme Lord said: I am not manifest to everyone, being veiled by My divine illusory power (yoga-maya). This deluded world does not know Me, who am unborn and imperishable.

श्री भगवान बोले - हे अर्जुन! मैं भूत, वर्तमान और भविष्य के सभी प्राणियों को जानता हूँ, परन्तु मुझे कोई नहीं जानता।

The Supreme Lord said: O Arjuna, I know all beings of the past, present and future, but no one knows Me.

हे भारत! इच्छा और द्वेष से उत्पन्न होने वाले द्वन्द्व रूप मोह के कारण सभी प्राणी जन्म के समय ही मोह को प्राप्त होते हैं, हे परन्तप!

O Bharata! All beings are born into delusion, overcome by the dualities that arise from desire and aversion, O Parantapa!

जिन पुण्यकर्मा मनुष्यों के पाप का नाश हो गया है, वे द्वन्द्वरूप मोह से मुक्त होकर दृढ़ संकल्प के साथ मेरी भक्ति करते हैं।

Those persons of virtuous deeds, whose sins have come to an end, being freed from the delusion of dualities, worship Me with firm resolve.

जो लोग जरा और मृत्यु से मोक्ष पाने के लिए मेरा आश्रय लेकर प्रयत्न करते हैं, वे उस ब्रह्म को, सम्पूर्ण अध्यात्म को और सम्पूर्ण कर्म को जानते हैं।

Those who strive for liberation from old age and death, taking refuge in Me, come to know Brahman completely, the entire spiritual knowledge, and all about action.

जो पुरुष अधिभूत और अधिदैव सहित मुझको तथा अधियज्ञ सहित मुझको जानते हैं, वे युक्त चित्तवाले पुरुष प्रयाणकाल में भी मुझको जानते हैं।

Those who know Me as the Supreme Being governing the physical and divine realms, and as the Supreme Lord of all sacrifices, with their minds steadfast in yoga, know Me even at the time of death.
